Creative Artiste Challenge : Guest Design - Challenge #55 "Anything Mixed Media Goes"

Hi Crafty Souls,
I am so so excited to be the Guest Designer on the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog today. The present month challenge is as always "Anything Mixed Media Goes".
I decided to create this mixed media watch box on steampunk theme and invite you all to join this month's wonderful challenge at Creative Artiste Blog.

Here I am sharing the quick step-by-step process : -
1) At first I pasted a piece of cardboard in the middle and another piece on it leaving the side area to make three layers like staircase and made check patterns with hot glue.
2) Then I put art balls at the edges of the second layer and applied modelling paste with number stencil on the two sides of the last layer.
3) After that I applied black gesso on it thoroughly.
4) Then applied the required base colours.... I adhered the coloured emblishments at the last and added corners. On the second layer I added coloured background diecuts.
5) At the end I highlighted the corners, emblishments and stenciled part with gold wax.
6) On the inside lid I decoupaged the picture and varnished all over the box.
My box is ready!

I hope you liked my creation and are inspired by this month's challenge too. My heartfelt thanks to Andree and the entire team for giving me this opportunity.
Please join us for this wonderful challenge and I can't wait to see your lovely creations too.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please do leave your comments as I really love to read them.

How To Decoupage MDF Coaster Set Along With Heat Embossing

Hi Creative minds,
A very happy Dussehra to you all. Hope you enjoyed this Puja your heart out and gearing up for upcoming Diwali festival.
Today I will show you a tutorial on how to Decoupage MDF Coaster Set Along With Heat Embossing. This project is perfect for festive gifting as well as personal use.
This project I made specially and only for i-Craft with their products.
I can say thousand times if you ask me that i-Craft chalk paint is the best! Only one coat application is enough for the total coverage. It's very very smooth to apply on any surface! It has awesome shades of colours to work with too! So, request you to choose your chalk paints wisely.
Now without wasting much time here I am presenting my project pics with video tutorial below.

Hope you enjoyed the video tutorial and got inspiration too....

"Wonderland" - A Shabby Chic Mixed Media Layout with Tutorial

Hi lovely people,
Today I am presenting a shabby chic mixed media layout on shadow tray specially designed for 'i-craft' with their products.
'i-Craft' sent me a gift package with full of lovely products! I must say about their chalkpaints which is so so good! It has nice packaging with a broad-mouth container so that u can use the chalkpaint to its fullest... It's so buttery that u can apply on any surface very soomthly..... It gives a very nice and full coverage with just one coat application! Trust me.... If u apply i-Craft chalkpaint then just one raw paint layer is enough to give the finish! I experienced it personally.
So, this time I thought to make a mixed media layout which I never made before... It was truely an experiment and I am so glad that it came out very well. I made the tutorial too. So, without wasting much time here is some close up pics of my project and Tutorial video too.

Hope you will get some inspirations and try out in your own way....

Fantasy DT Call - 2019

Hello Colleagues,
I am so much excited to apply for "Fantasy Design Team 2019  Recruitment". I am too keen to be the part of it and to work with all talented crafters here.

I am Tulika Saha, a passionate crafter from The City of Joy- Kolkata. I did my Master Degree in Geography. Worked almost 15 years as a teacher in different schools in Kolkata and Howrah, before I took up crafting as a full time career and being a stay at home mom with my son. I always had a keen interest for art and craft. I constantly trying out new ways to upcycle things. So, I decided to invest my time to start my own venture in crafting business after leaving my school job.
Papers always attract me in some way or the other and that is the main reason to love papercrafting most and to turn any product into useful home decor through decoupage, scrapbook layout or mixed media! I love to create products with diecuts and chippies as they put extra spark to any project. I take inspirations from nature and industries and those reflect on my work too but whatever project I do, I put my soul into it and they are very close to my heart.

Mixed Media Watch Box with Leather Effect "Nature's Mechanism"

Hiii Friends,
Welcome to my blog again! Today I am sharing a mixed media with leather effect 12slots watch box which is a commission work for a lady.
Nature has its own mechanism and that was the thought behind this project. I love steampunk style. Though watch includes loads of mechanical features so, wanted to merge it with feminine theme and nothing better than nature which is the ideal symbol to represent feminism.
I gave a rusty effect in the middle part with CrafTangles Rust Effect Texture Paste (Set of 4) and vintage pastel effect around it. I have applied so many techniques here to give it a perfect "look" how I wanted to see it and I am quite excited and glad that it came out sooooo soooo well! As per my client's demand I have applied leather effect on all the sides of this watch box.
What do you think friends? Please do share your suggestions and comments below about it. I will be very glad to hear your opinions.....
so here is my project -
